A new year is meant to bring fresh starts, new hope, and resolutions, but 1991 has not been so kind to the boy found wandering the streets of Immacolata, and to the woman who had finally walked away from a life of violence. It was a year that started with cryptic accidents which had the forensics team bending over backwards to find what had really happened.

With Lucio focusing on a cold case, and Marius dealing with a loss in the family, the team brings in old help to manage the complex cases, and mitigate the collateral damage which stems from them. Throughout their investigation they come across people from all walks of life, and who genuinely offer their help so that justice is served.

1991 is a story about loss, grief, resilience, love and hope. A journey in which friendships are strengthened, and new alliances forged. But will this be enough for the team to be able to provide closure for everyone?
